Li Pan

Hi! I am a first-year PhD student at the Usher Institute, University of Edinburgh. My research is generously funded by the European Research Council (ERC) and College of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine (CMVM), under the supervision of Professor Miguel Bernabeu and Professor Val Brunton. Before that, I received my MSc degree from the City University of Hong Kong and BEng degree from Xiamen University. I also work closely with Dr. Zhen Chen on medical image analysis.

My research centers on the quantitative assessment of human health conditions through the integration of multi-omics data, including genomics, pathological imaging, and privacy-preserving sensing technologies. I am deeply dedicated to identifying digital biomarkers for diseases and uncovering their underlying mechanisms. My expertise includes extensive experience in designing and implementing large-scale, real-world smart health systems, with a particular focus on Alzheimer’s Disease monitoring. Furthermore, I have received specialized training in the clinical evaluation of pathology and radiology images, particularly in relation to cancers, at Queen Mary Hospital.
